Casa Triângulo is pleased to present Vento Corta, the second solo exhibition by Zé Tepedino at the gallery.
Vento Corta
A fog changes the landscape
After a day of rain, like a leaky faucet, the wind cuts.
Every night gentlemen behind their cards accumulate notes about the time.
The wind blows across the horizon, which insists on getting up and putting on same clothes.Weather is the right arm, but without it, the wind is gentle, a breeze, a gust, a slash of air.
Corners seem to divide it, but soft things give it shelter.
Gathered in an arrangement commanded by gaps, waves gain light.
Being hard, they freeze the sound of a fan.
A street corner visits another city, which like an arm in a cast decides to take only what the body remembers.
While the window was closing, they said goodbye. And there inside, everything gradually found its new place.

A note about the exhibition
Wind is subtle, often imperceptible, like many of the materials I choose to work with. Even so, through the repetition of simple gestures, these materials gain presence and are asserted in the cut – a physical, evident mark.
This exhibition features a selection of recent works that explore different materialities, scales, and rhythms, constructing poetic systems in constant dialogue. Ordinary elements come together and are repeated, but never in the same way.
The essence of wind – seen especially in the works with flags – as well as the recurring act of cutting, flow through these artworks.
Like the wind, nearly invisible, the exhibition is revealed in its relationship with time, affirming its presence at moments and in memory.

MANHÃ
The artwork Manhã is composed of fragments of old beach chairs, which, after a prolonged contact with the body and the passage of time, take on different hues and carry the memories of their use.
The object is disassembled and, through a new arrangement, structured by the same material — in the form of a continuous line, evoking transition from night to day. -

CASSINO
The Sunday morning walks to the beach begin to regularly encounter an unusual scene.
Tables wrapped in large sheets of paper, covered with circles, scribbles, names, and what seems to be marks: notes about the time. -

AFFECTUS
The idea of displacing and rearticulating objects, materials, and situations — re-presenting them in new contexts — takes on new contours.
Affectus is a sculpture that speaks about the everyday and of intimacy. -
