Casa Triângulo is pleased to announce the representation of the artist Fernanda Galvão.
Fernanda Galvão’s first artistic investigations started with an attentive look at the biology and repertoire of the body itself, such as entrails, cells, constituent tissues or even strangers to this body. To this set of references, notions of internal and external landscapes were soon added and, in this sense, both the study and observation of nature and science fiction literature, beside the cinematography are fundamental.
Her artistic research focuses on painting, but also uses films, installations and sculptures. Despite the language used in her works, the artist develops atmospheres that propose a universe with its own rules, space-related issues and temporalities. Thus, unique landscapes and ecosystems of the pictorial world emerge, as they are informed by nature, but from it unique and fictional landscapes are born, eventually inappropriate for human life, but conducive to so many other forms of life.

Fernanda Galvão [São Paulo, 1994] has a B.A in Visual Arts from Fundação Armando Alvares Penteado, São Paulo, Brazil, 2016. Her artistic practice stems from her relationship with landscape, nature and science fiction references – both from literature and cinematography. From her experience observing elements of nature, she thinks about the construction of fictitious landscapes and ecosystems. Regardless of the medium, she sets out by building particular atmospheres that propose a new universe with different rules, spatiality and temporal linearity. Galvão’s artistic focus is on painting, but she also works with films, installations and sculptures.
She had her first solo show in 2020 at the Ribeirão Preto Museum - MARP, Ribeirão Preto, Brazil. Since 2016, she has regularly participated in exhibitions, such as: 44th SARP - Salão de Arte de Ribeirão Preto, Ribeirão Preto, Brazil, where she received an award; 47th Salão de Arte Contemporânea Luiz Sacilotto, Santo André, Brazil, where she also received an award; And in that year the black night nails the door, at Oficina Cultural Oswald de Andrade, São Paulo, Brazil; 28th Mostra da Juventude at SESC Ribeirão Preto, Ribeirão Preto, Brazil; and the 47th Annual Arts of Fundação Armando Alvares Penteado, São Paulo, Brazil.
