Yuri Firmeza takes place in the group exhibition À Nordeste, curated by Bitu Cassundé, Clarissa Diniz and Marcelo Campos, at Sesc 24 de Maio, São Paulo, Brazil.
The exhibition presents reflections on Brazil from the symbolic production of the Northeast in terms of its regional singularities and the radical nature of its sensitive dimension. Proposes a look at the history of the region that reveals the vertebral dimensions of the formation and contemporaneity of Brazil and its infinite pluralities. Gathering a significant set of works, the show pieces and experiences of diverse contexts and vocations that imagine, invent and reconstruct the Northeast of Brazil, the exhibition crosses fields such as iconography and social theory, intending to think about the historical, social and cultural circumstances of the invention of an idea of "northeast".
